Strike could hit Guernsey Airport this week
24.05.09
There is a high chance of disruption at Guernsey Airport this week because of a dispute between the local government and its fire service. Reduced fire cover is likely from 13:00 on Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, which will mean the airport is downgraded and large aircraft - such as those used by Flybe - will not be able to take off or land.
Airport firefighters are in dispute with the States over pay. The industrial disputes officer has been called in and Guernsey Airport says the situation is out of its control.
