Plans submitted for Glasgow Airport train station
25.03.08
Plans have been submitted for the train station at Glasgow Airport as part of the £210million rail link. An application to build two platforms close to the main terminal has been lodged with Renfrewshire Council.
Four trains an hour will run between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Central stations once the long-awaited link is completed in 2011. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, the Council owned company charged with delivering the project, have applied for prior approval for the station to ensure the project can be delivered on time.
It is understood BAA Scotland have agreed to pay for a walkway to take passengers from the station into the heart of the airport.
