Virgin launch Glasgow – Orlando flights

Virgin Atlantic launched a new summer flight service between Glasgow Airport and Orlando, Florida yesterday. To celebrate the inaugural service a traditional Scottish band performed on the airport's main concourse.
Travellers on the first flight were treated to a selection of free gifts to celebrate the new addition, which is being operated jointly with Virgin Holidays.
Gordon Dewar, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: ‘The new service has proved a phenomenal success and next years' expanded programme is already selling well, proving that Scotland is capable of sustaining world-class airlines such as Virgin Atlantic.’
