Glasgow Airport evacuated over suspicious package

Glasgow Airport was partially evacuated late last night after the discovery of a ‘suspicious package’. Passengers and several staff were ordered to leave the east and domestic pier sections of the main terminal building after the package was discovered at 23:00.
A spokesman for the airport said the matter had been referred to Strathclyde Police who carried out an investigation of the area. A police search adviser attended along with a bomb disposal team. Flights continued to arrive and depart as normal during the incident.
