Doctors deny Glasgow Airport terror attack charges

Two doctors have denied charges related to car bomb attacks in London and at Glasgow Airport. Iraqi Bilal Abdullah, 28, and Jordanian Mohammed Asha, 27, say they are innocent of charges of conspiring to murder and to cause explosions.
Police arrested Dr Abdullah and Dr Asha after a botched attempt by a third person to drive a burning Jeep into Glasgow Airport on June 30 last year. The driver was engulfed in flames and died. Dr Abdullah was arrested at the scene and police say he was a passenger. Dr Asha was detained on the M6 motorway in Cheshire later that day.
The men are accused of conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions between January 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007. They appeared by video link from prison for yesterday's pretrial hearing at London's Central Criminal Court. During a 30-minute hearing of mostly legal argument, the two men formally denied the charges.
The case was adjourned until July 25 when a pre-trial review will take place at the Old Bailey. Mr Justice Mackay said a trial, expected to last 12 weeks, will begin on October 2 at Woolwich Crown Court.
