easyJet to relaunch Glasgow – Amsterdam flights
21.04.11
easyJet is reintroducing a daily service between Glasgow and Amsterdam this winter, aimed at the city break and business travel markets, and also targeting Dutch travellers taking short breaks in Scotland. The budget airline dropped the route in 2005, but believes it will carry about 85,000 passengers a year when it launches on October 31.
The route will be easyJet’s 15th from Glasgow, and the airline said it other developments including a fourth daily Gatwick flight, new route to Jersey and deployment of an 180-seat Airbus A320 would increase its capacity at the airport by about 250,000 seats a year. The route will also put easyJet in competition with KLM, which has five daily flights between Glasgow and Amsterdam.
