New restaurant near Glasgow Airport
11.11.08
A new restaurant neighbouring Glasgow Airport has opened. The R34 eatery has been named after the first airship to complete a transatlantic crossing in both directions in 1919, which was built on the site.
Featuring simple food with a focus on high-quality, local ingredients, the restaurant is within walking distance of the airport and only 15 minutes from the city centre. It opened earlier this week and customers are able to enjoy food prepared under the watchful eye of veteran head chef John Shields. It offers another option for people staying locally at an airport hotel.
Mr Shields said: ‘R34 is committed to sourcing organic produce wherever possible to ensure our customers receive the highest quality food. Much of the produce appearing on our menu is sourced from the best Scottish suppliers, including Highland Beef and Blackface Lamb from Killochries Fold and wild venison from Kenneth Morrison in Wester Ross.’
