Flyglobespan takes on 130 staff

Flyglobespan has hired nearly 130 new staff to cope with summer demand. Airline bosses recruited 93 extra crew for services in and out of Glasgow Airport and another 35 at Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports.
The Scottish low-cost airline has recruited extra cabin crew to work on long-haul flights to America and Canada as part of its expansion plans, as well as flights to Spain. The additional staff were taken on in preparation for the launch of the budget airline's summer schedule, with some of the new flights taking off last week, and others launched over the next month.
A Flyglobespan spokeswoman said: ‘The new staff have been taken on to work on our increased flying programme this summer. This includes daily flights from Glasgow to Alicante, Malaga, Palma, Faro, Barcelona and Orlando as well as the start of our Canadian programme which starts in May and includes twice weekly flights to Toronto and twice weekly flights to Calgary/Vancouver direct from Glasgow.’
