Police who helped thwart the terror attack at Glasgow Airport were honoured this week. The airport was attacked on 30 June 2007, the busiest day of the year, when a blazing Jeep filled with gas canisters was driven into the terminal. Dozens of Strathclyde officers were recognised for their actions on the day of the attack and their involvement in the subsequent investigation.
Strathclyde Police's Chief Constable Stephen House presented the honours at a ceremony in Glasgow. A total of 39 officers were honoured and six departments received group awards. Chief Constable House said it was the ‘right time’ to recognise the officers now the court case had ended.
