Glasgow Airport top but Edinburgh closing and Aberdeen fastest growing

Glasgow Airport kept its title of Scotland's busiest airport when BAA released its October passenger data, but Edinburgh Airport continues to catch it, whilst Aberdeen Airport is Scotland's fastest growing hub.
The new figures show passenger numbers at the airport grew by 0.2% in the 12 months to October to 8.8million passengers. Last month the airport handled 881,791 passengers - a 1.5% rise on October 2005.
Edinburgh Airport handled 780,889 passengers last month, up 2% on the previous year.
In the year to October, the airport handled 8.6m passengers - again up 2%.
Aberdeen was the fastest growing airport in the BAA Scotland group, with passengers up 14% to 299,700 last month. In the year to October, the north-east hub handled 3.1m passengers - up 10.3%.
