Islands flights from Glasgow hit by ash again
06.05.10
Flights between Glasgow Airport and the Hebrides were disrupted yesterday by drifting ash from the volcanic eruptions in Iceland. Loganair, which runs Flybe branded services, cancelled flights linking Glasgow to Benbecula and Stornoway on Lewis and between Benbecula and Stornoway. Flights from Barra to Glasgow and between Glasgow and Tiree were also delayed.
Loganair were able to resume normal services after 13:00. A spokesman said: ‘Forecasts for the weekend show the volcanic ash continuing to move west, away from UK airspace, but we do recommend that passengers continue to check the Flybe website before setting out for their airport.’
