Glasgow gets one off Jamaica flight
06.09.10
Glasgow Airport will offer the first direct flight from Scotland to Jamaica's Montego Bay next year. The historic flight is a one-off by holiday firm Thomas Cook, and offers Scottish holidaymakers the chance to jet to the Caribbean island for a 14-night break.
The flight on March 8 next year is one of several one-off flights planned by the holiday company. These include flights to Las Vegas on November 3, followed by Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on January 26. It will also be taking holidaymakers to the republic’s Puerto Plata on March 16. Trips to the Mexican resort of Cancun are planned for January 2 and March 20. The trip to Las Vegas lasts a week, while the remainder are all for a fortnight.
The extra flights boost the firm’s winter programme out of Glasgow Airport, which also includes flights to the Balearics, Canary Islands, Cuba, Cyprus, Egypt, Lapland, Madeira, Malta, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.
