Virgin confirms extra Glasgow – Orlando flights

Virgin Atlantic has confirmed that it will double its number of flights from Glasgow to Orlando over the summer of 2011. The extra flights will mean Virgin will offer 26,000 more seats to the Florida city raising the total to 45,000.
Overall the airline carried over 850,000 passengers to Orlando in 2009. Steve Ridgway, Chief Executive of Virgin Atlantic, said: 'The decision underlines our commitment to flying to long-haul destinations from regional airports. These Glasgow flights will be a welcome boost to our current services.'
The services will operate directly on Saturdays and Sundays between April 2 and October 30.
