BA to add Gatwick – San Juan flight

British Airways is to add an extra service between Gatwick Airport to the Caribbean, the Jamaica Observer has reported. From next year, passengers can fly to San Juan twice a week, one of the 15 Caribbean destinations to be on offer from the London hub.
The move was made in response to the popularity of the destination with holidaymakers and has been made possible by BA's co-operation with both Iberia and American Airlines. It also seems to contradict the airline's recent comments that the increase in air passenger duty (APD) from tomorrow would hit demand for flights to the Caribbean particularly hard.
