easyJet launch Gatwick – Jordan flights
28.03.11
easyJet launched its longest route ever at the weekend when it began a service to Amman, the capital of Jordan from Gatwick Airport. The three times weekly flights have a five-hour flying time, the outer edge of the time period customers are assumed to be prepared to tolerate on a budget airline plane.
The route was launched despite continuing unrest in Jordan, including a demonstration on Friday when a pro-reform supporter was reported killed in Amman. Jordan has made a determined effort to market itself as a safe destination and attractions such as Petra make it a popular destination for UK tourists.
