Pleas to save Newquay / Plymouth – Gatwick flights fail
28.01.11
Attempts to persuade Air Southwest to maintain air links from Cornwall and Devon to London has failed, Plymouth's Chamber of Commerce has said.
Members met Air Southwest bosses yesterday to try to persuade them to postpone axing the Newquay and Plymouth to Gatwick route. However, the delegation failed and last flight will leave on Monday as planned, the airline said. It blames falling passenger numbers and high landing fees for the decision to axe the route.
