BA launch Gatwick – Caribbean flights
27.10.09
Passengers can now fly from Gatwick Airport to 11 Caribbean destinations, after British Airways launched its winter routes. BA has added new flights to the Jamaican destination Montego Bay and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, and claims to now provide more seats to the Caribbean from the UK than any other airline.
The new routes are in addition to the flights that it already runs to Bermuda, Grenada, St Kitts and Barbados. BA will operate a total 55 flights a week from London to the Caribbean, with 11 destinations served from Gatwick and three from Heathrow. It also offers the biggest variety of seats from the UK to the Caribbean than any other airline.
Mike Luddy, commercial director at Gatwick Airport, said they were ‘delighted’ that the range of destinations was being expanded. BA's general manager at Gatwick Airport, Alan Peever, added that the routes would ‘prove popular’ with airport customers.
