Crash causes Gatwick rush hour chaos

A rush-hour crash caused chaos for people travelling to and from Gatwick this morning, the Crawley News reports. Two cars and a van were damaged in the smash, which happened at around 08:20.
The incident led to gridlock between junctions 9 and 10 southbound on the M23. One motorist caught in the jam said he moved barely 20 yards in the space of 30 minutes, as the traffic moved at a snail's pace. Traffic also slowed at the other side of the motorway, as drivers slowed to see the cause of the holdup. Emergency services were still at the scene over an hour later.
