UK airports ready for Easter rush

Around two million people will leave the country for an Easter holiday this weekend, with national and local airports all expecting a busy few days. Heathrow airport will be the busiest airport with 900,000 expected to fly off in search of winter sun, a late skiing holiday or a weekend break. Next busiest will be Gatwick airport with around 514,000 passengers, followed by Stansted airport with 330,000.
In the north and midlands about 100,000 people are expected to fly from Manchester Airport, 85,000 from Birmingham, 60,000 from Newcastle and 35,000 from Leeds Bradford Airport.
In Scotland, Edinburgh airport is expected to be the busiest airport with around 128,000 passengers, followed by Glasgow airport with 107,000 and Aberdeen airport with 41,000. Other busy airports include Luton with around 120,000 passengers, and Southampton with around 31,000.
