‘Significant’ improvement in Gatwick flight punctuality
16.12.09
Passengers travelling on flights from Gatwick Airport will be pleased to know that their journey is much more likely to run on time, thanks to an improvement in punctuality at the travel hub. According to figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), flight punctuality improved ‘significantly’ between July and September this year - a 20 percent improvement compared to a year earlier.
Stewart Wingate, chief executive officer at the airport, said that the team wanted Gatwick to be the airport of choice for people in the south-east and London. He said: ‘Improving flight punctuality is an important part of this and I am delighted that Gatwick's performance has improved for the second consecutive quarter.'
