New transport busses for Gatwick Airport
15.06.10
National Express has bought a fleet of new buses for its 'Airlinks' Gatwick airside shuttle service. The 12 single deck Mercedes Citaro busses will transport passengers and flight crew between the airport's terminals and planes up to 450 times everyday.
National Express was awarded the contract to operate airside transport in September 2009. The investment brings the average age of the fleet down to three years, and provides customers with more modern, comfortable airport transfers. The new busses have 30% more capacity, are fully air-conditioned and have Euro 5 engines, which will help to reduce emissions at the airport.
