Virgin helps parents preserve Christmas magic
14.12.11
Virgin Atlantic will make life for parents and Father Christmas a little easier this year – despite tight airport security. For the first time, the airline is offering passengers the chance to wrap last minute gifts for their loved ones, after passing through security but before boarding the plane.
Airports prefer that all presents carried by passengers in their hand luggage remain unwrapped for security reasons. The airline hopes the service will solve the problem for parents travelling at Christmas, knowing that presents for children that are supposed to be kept secret until Christmas Day are unwrapped nearby.
This one-off service will be available prior to boarding at the gate area by 'specially trained Elves' who will wrap up the gift with decorative ribbons and a large bow and gift tag.
