BA announce Gatwick – Marrakech flights
09.11.10
British Airways is to re-launch flights between Gatwick and the Moroccan city of Marrakech, in direct competition with budget airlines. The airline will begin three times weekly services on March 27 next year, three years after pulling off the route, with one-way fares starting from £79.70 including taxes.
BA offered flights to Marrakesh from 2002 to 2008 through franchise carrier GB Airways, but its service was discontinued when GB was taken over by low-cost rival easyJet. Its new service will bring it into head to head competition with the budget airline.
A spokesman for the airline said: ‘BA offers a real alternative to discerning travellers to Morocco. Unlike the low cost carriers, we offer fantastic all-inclusive fares with no stealth extras.’
