07.06.09
A ‘minor technical fault’ with a Flybe aircraft flying from Gatwick sparked a full-scale alert at Inverness Airport yesterday, the Press & Journal reports. A fleet of fire engines, ambulances and other emergency crews from Inverness attended the airport as the aircraft with 121 on board, touched down safely.
The alarm was raised at 11:20, 15 minutes before the plane was due to land. A Flybe spokeswoman told the newspaper: ‘Flybe can confirm that flight BE7321 from Gatwick to Inverness landed safely at 11:35 following a minor technical fault with the aircraft. As is standard precautionary procedure at Inverness Airport for such an eventuality, the aircraft was met by emergency service vehicles. All passengers disembarked as normal.'
