Monarch passengers up 24%
07.02.11
Monarch passenger numbers rose by just over 24 percent in January 2011. The leisure airline has revealed that over 185,000 holidaymakers headed to sunnier climes in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and Cyprus during the first month of the year, a 24.07 increase compared with the same month last year and the highest number of passengers ever carried in the month of January.
The increase in passenger numbers was boosted not just by the early onset of winter in December, but also by Monarch’s new winter flights from Gatwick and Manchester to Majorca.
