Holiday companies introduce fuel surcharges
02.03.11
Thomas Cook and TUI owned Thomson, First Choice and Thomson Airways have all introduced fuel surcharges to claw back rising fuel costs. Thomas Cook was the first major tour operator to introduce fuel supplements yesterday. It was quickly followed by TUI today.
Thomas Cook has added a £15 'fuel supplement' to short-haul holidays, £25 to mid-haul trips and £40 to long-haul destinations. The charge will apply to new holiday and flight-only bookings with immediate effect. TUI's supplements are the same, and will be applied from March 4 on all new bookings.
