Investigation after disabled passengers left at Edinburgh Airport
30.08.11
An investigation has been launched at Edinburgh Airport after six disabled passengers were left stranded at the terminal as their flight took off without them, the Scotsman reports. The passengers were told they would only board the easyJet flight to Belfast once able-bodied travellers had taken their seats, but when the queue disappeared, an airline rep told them the flight had gone.
A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport told the newspaper: ‘Edinburgh Airport is very disappointed at the treatment of these passengers. We are conducting a full and urgent investigation with the organisations [airline and their ground services partner] responsible to understand what happened and to ensure it does not happen again.’
