Edinburgh Airport considers new bus service
29.10.08
A shuttle bus running passengers to and from Edinburgh Airport could be established on the A8 under plans being considered by BAA Edinburgh, the Evening News reports. The shuttle would better link up bus services running along the A8 corridor, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, cutting journey times and encouraging more people to use public transport.
The airport launched has a feasibility study into a new public transport interchange on the motorway. Under the new plans, a small bus stop or terminal would be created along the A8, that would allow passengers to be dropped off and picked up by an airport shuttle bus.
Gordon Dewar, BAA Edinburgh managing director, told the newspaper: ‘We feel there could be more done to improve access for those passengers coming from the west. An interchange may help better connect those services which are already running along the A8 to the airport.’
