Ryanair announce new Edinburgh – Norway route
29.04.09
Edinburgh Airport has announced the addition of a new route to Norway, which could see an additional 45,000 passengers pass through its doors every year. Ryanair will fly the new route to Haugesund twice a week from July, and also increase the number of flights it operates to Bremen in Germany.
Haugesund is on the west coast of Norway and is popular for its skiing, international film and jazz festivals and a separate Viking festival held each year. The new route means the budget airline will now fly 29 routes from the airport, up from just seven a year ago. Edinburgh Airport managing director Gordon Dewar said: ‘It is a huge vote of confidence in our local market.’
