easyJet double Scottish celebration
22.08.11
easyJet is celebrating a ten-year Scottish double. The tenth anniversary of the launch of the airline’s route from Glasgow to Belfast International Airport was celebrated yesterday, and on 3 September it will celebrate ten years of flying to Belfast from Edinburgh Airport.
Over the decade, 3.1 million passengers have flown on the Glasgow - Belfast route – and 2.9 million have travelled with the airline to or from Edinburgh. Ali Gayward, easyJet commercial manager, said: ‘We are delighted that our Glasgow and Edinburgh routes have both been very successful. The two cities have always been big attractions for business people, holidaymakers going on short breaks or longer stays, and sports fans.'
‘There has also been significant business and tourism traffic from Scotland into Northern Ireland, and with our focus on making travel easy and affordable, and the introduction of products such as our new Flex fare, we see this demand increasing.’
