Aviation authorities have confirmed that an investigation is under way. A spokesman for Nats, the air traffic control company, said: ‘An incident in the environs of Edinburgh Airport has been reported for investigation. That is all the data we have on it at the moment.’
A spokesperson for Edinburgh Airport confirmed that an incident did take place at that time on Monday, but referred inquiries on to air traffic control operators.
