Premier Inns consider Scottish airport hotels
16.09.09
With plans to build four big new hotels at London airports, Premier Inn, the budget hotel chain owned by Whitbread, has signalled its intent to become the UK's largest airport hotelier, the Scotsman reports. And the company is 'casting an eye over airports north of the Border', the newspaper adds.
John Bates, head of acquisitions, UK and Ireland, for Whitbread, told the Scotsman: ‘Airport hotels are part of our expansion strategy in Scotland as well as across the rest of the UK. We are looking at other UK airport sites where we can secure the right deal and the best results for our customers. Some of these are likely to be in Scotland.’
