Police warning over Edinburgh Airport laser incidents

Police have issued a warning to people who shine green lasers at aircraft landing in Edinburgh Airport after the seventh incident in recent months. A bmi plane was landing at the airport on Saturday at 19:45 when the laser was beamed into its cockpit.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: ‘Shining a laser into the cockpit is not only irresponsible, but dangerous. Anyone found to be responsible for these acts will be reported to the procurator fiscal.’
The plane, from Heathrow, was passing over the city's Straiton area at 4,000ft when the incident happened. It is thought the laser was shone from the Loanhead area. None of the other incidents involved a laser from that area.
