Man in court over gun on flight claim

A man has appeared in court accused of committing a breach of the peace on an aircraft by pretending that he had a gun. Vytautus Gulbnacius, 25, of Sinclair Road, Aberdeen, pleaded not guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to putting cabin crew and passengers on board a Flyglobespan flight from Edinburgh Airport to Egypt in a state of fear and alarm by claiming to be in possession of a gun.
The flight was held up on the runway for about an hour on Wednesday. The trial date was fixed for August and Mr Gulbnacius was allowed bail.
