Flyglobespan Irish flight delayed in New York for 3 days
01.07.07
Around 200 Irish passengers have been stranded in New York waiting to get home for nearly three days after their Flyglobespan flight was grounded by technical troubles. The Edinburgh based budget airline's flight was due to take off from New York's JFK Airport on Thursday evening for Knock in Ireland, but yesterday evening repairs were still being made.
A spokesman for the airline said the aircraft had been struck by lightning just before landing and parts had to be replaced. Flyglobespan has suffered a number of plane problems recently, with its Liverpool - New York flights hit by a series of delays and cancellations over plane problems, and one of the airline's jets was forced to make two emergency landings in a week in Canada.
