Chicken pox scare at East Midlands Airport
30.03.08
Passengers who arrived at East Midlands Airport on flight from Italy were detained for about three hours today following a health scare.
About 150 people on the Ryanair flight from Pisa, which landed just after 18:00 today, were held in an airport building after it emerged a boy on board had chicken pox. They were interviewed by Leicestershire Health Authority before being allowed to go through immigration and customs.
A subsequent flight using the aircraft was cancelled as the plane was being inspected by the health authority.
