East Midlands flight diverted after passenger dies

A holiday flight bound for East Midlands Airport was diverted to Germany yesterday after a passenger died on board. Thompson Airways confirmed that the flight from Larnaca, in Cyprus, to East Midlands was delayed for about two hours in Munich before continuing on its journey.
The plane eventually landed at East Midlands Airport at about 19:25. A spokeswoman for the company said: ‘Thomson would like to extend their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased at this difficult time.’
