East Midlands Airport ‘green week’
29.09.08
Staff at East Midlands Airport have taken part in a ‘green week’ to try to make small changes to be more environmentally aware. Experts on recycling, composting and energy saving visited the airport during the week to give staff advice on making green choices.
The airport has created ‘bug hotels’ to help encourage new habitats for wildlife at the site, and staff pledged to start car sharing and taking buses to meetings. A spokesman for the airport said: ‘The week was a fun and interactive way to get staff involved in the issues surrounding climate change and how we can all make a big difference by making small changes to the way we do things.’
