East Midlands Airport hotel welcomes first guests

The first guests have been welcomed at the new £22m Radisson Blu hotel at East Midlands Airport. The four-star hotel, which includes luxury leisure and spa facilities, free high speed wireless and secure, wired internet access and gourmet restaurant using the best of local produce, opened on Monday.
The hotel has a feature wine room available for wine tasting led by the hotel's in-house experts, and a regular shuttle bus provides passenger transfers to East Midlands Airport. The hotel is also setting environmental standards for new hotels across Europe, boasting an Energy Performance Certification rating of 2 and a carbon neutral build.
The 218 roomed hotel includes 8 executive suites, a full service restaurant and bar with wine cellar, conferencing facilities with function suite, plus full leisure and health facilities including swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms.
The hotel's 195 Standard Rooms feature a flat-panel television, individual climate control and Free high-speed Internet access. Prices start at £99.00 per night, and it had already received £1m in room bookings before its opening night.
