East Midlands Airport traffic warning
25.07.09
This weekend the British Moto GP will be taking place at Donington Park, with passengers flying to or from East Midlands Airport advised of the following Traffic Management systems in operation and to allow extra time for their journey.
Today (Saturday) there is a one way system in place on Melbourne Lane between Paddocks entrance and Isley Walton. Tomorrow (Sunday July 26) a one-way system will be in operation on the A453 between Pegasus roundabout and DHL roundabout during both the inbound and outbound phases of the event.
Inbound restrictions will be in place from 0600 to 1400 (from Pegasus to DHL, i.e. westerly traffic flow). The airport Main entrance will be closed to exiting traffic during this phase. All egress from EMA will be via either the DHL or Pegasus roundabouts.
Outbound restrictions are from 1400 to 2100 (from DHL to Pegasus, i.e. easterly flow of traffic). The airport main entrance closed to right turn (westbound) exiting traffic. In addition, from 1600 to 1900 the DHL roundabout will be closed to both inbound and outbound traffic. Traffic wishing to head west out of the main entrance will need to use the internal road system to the Pegasus roundabout and utilise A453/A50 or A42.
