East Midlands Airport traffic warning this weekend

This weekend's British Superbike National At Donington Park will mean that there is extra traffic on roads too or from East Midlands Airport on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (May 24 - 26). Donington Park is situated just off junction 23a of the M1, right next to the airport. Tens of thousand of fans expected to travel to the event on local roads.
The airport is advising passengers to allow extra time when travelling to the airport during this event. These events are normally accompanied by traffic management systems and temporary traffic lights around the airport, on the A453 approach roads and near to Donington Park itself, although we have not been able to get confirmation on this from the airport.
