Plane emergency at East Midlands Airport

A plane with seven people on board landed safely at East Midlands Airport after triggering an emergency response from firefighters over the weekend. The incident was the second declared emergency at the airport in two days.
On Saturday shortly after 20:00 an Airbus A320 touched down attended by the airport's fire service. Also standing by, but not required, were three fire engines and a water carrier from Loughborough, an engine and command support vehicle from Shepshed, single engines from Long Eaton and Coalville, a logistical support unit from Uppingham and heavy and technical rescue support facilities from Leicestershire Fire Service's Southern station.
