Kids activities this summer at East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport is running a variety of activities in its Aerozone, the airport's dedicated education centre, between July 28 and September 1. Open every Thursday over the summer holidays, this offers an opportunity for parents to accompany their children on an exciting trip to the airport, where they can find out what happens in a fun and creative way.
Each session will last 2 hours and includes a tour of the terminal. The programme of activities is as follows:
Thursday 28 July: Working with willow
Willow is very important to East Midlands Airport. Find out why and get creative by making your own willow decoration.
Thursday 4 August: Art on the Trail
East Midlands Airport has a number of sculptures along the 6 mile perimeter trail. This is an opportunity to replicate one of the sculptures using clay.
Thursday 11 August: The power of wind
Make your own mini wind turbine and learn how they are used at East Midlands Airport.
Thursday 18 August: Meet the fire fighters
Your chance to meet the airport fire fighters and see the equipment they use every day.
Thursday 25 August: Let's go fly a kite
Planes fly to and from East Midlands Airport everyday. In this session children can make their own kite and watch it fly.
Thursday 1 September: Airport treasure hunt
Take part in a treasure hunt around the airport site.
Each session will take place from 10:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 15:00pm. The suggested age range os 5 - 11 years and there is a cost to visit the Aerozone of £2 per child, which is required at the time of booking. For more information Email hannah.borkett@eastmidlandsairport.com or call 01332 852 902.
