Emergency landing at East Midlands Airport

A plane bound for Portugal was forced to make a precautionary landing at East Midlands Airport yesterday because of problems with its air conditioning system. Emergency services were put on standby but the Airbus A319 landed safely.
The easyJet flight had left the airport for Faro at 06:05 but, shortly after take-off, there were indications of a problem with the air conditioning system. The crew turned back so the fault could be checked. The 118 passengers were taken off and transferred to a different plane, which left the airport at 08:00.
