Jet2 to double East Midlands flights
19.11.10
Jet2 is to double its flights from East Midlands Airport in 2011, after a ‘booming first summer’ at the hub. It is the ‘fastest growing of the airline’s eight bases’, with 180 percent more seats and 300,000 passengers set to travel from the airport next year. It will be the only ‘leisure airline to be expanding its operations at East Midlands Airport in 2011’.
A second Boeing 757 will be based at the airport next summer with 39 new employees recruited including airport based staff, cabin crew and pilots. Philip Meeson, Jet2 CEO, said: ‘We are delighted that we’ve had such a successful first summer at East Midlands and are excited about our flight programme for 2011.'
