Firework hits plane near East Midlands Airport

A firework smashed into a holiday jet carrying 180 passengers, the Sunday People reports. The A320 Airbus was landing at East Midlands Airport 3 days before Guy Fawkes night when a rocket hit it at 300ft and heading for the runway at 175mph - scorching paintwork.
The newspaper says that six passenger planes have been hit by fireworks in the last ten years.
