Kenyan chaplain visits East Midlands Airport
15.06.08
A Kenyan chaplain has arrived at East Midlands Airport as part of a tour of the UK. Grace Mangula, the chaplain of Wilson Airport in Nairobi, is at the airport to find out more about chaplaincy and aid work at British airports.
The visit, hosted by the airport's chaplaincy team and paid for by the International Association of Airport Chaplains, is the second leg of her tour of three UK airports.
Chaplain Mangula said: ‘It is fantastic to finally be in the UK to witness first hand the work that the airport chaplains are doing. As well as supporting their local community, the work that they are doing abroad and in countries such as Africa is really making a huge difference.’
The Rev Roy Monks, who leads the chaplaincy team at East Midlands Airport, said: ‘As well as showing her around the airport, we have also taken part in special prayer sessions and explained about our aid work.’
