East Midlands Airport wins award

East Midlands Airport has been named the best UK regional airport at the Travel Bulletin 2007 Star Awards. The hub faced competition from airports including Birmingham and Manchester to take the prize.
One of the most prestigious events in the travel industry', the Star Awards mark the achievements of the travel market and use votes from trade professionals to decide the winners.
Penny Coates, managing director of East Midlands Airport, said: 'The award shows the confidence, trust and respect our colleagues in the travel industry have for the airport. We are delighted that this has been recognised in a very competitive marketplace.'
Earlier this year the airport won the award for the top regional hub at the Travel Weekly Globe. It has also been short listed for an award for one of its bus services.
