Three charged over heroin find at East Midlands Airport

Three people have been charged after customs officers found heroin with a street value of £600,000 at East Midlands Airport. The shipment of about 6kg of the drug was found hidden in carpets that had been sent from Kabul in Afghanistan.
Customs officers said the shipment was destined for an address in Whalley Range, Manchester. Manchester Police have charged two men and one woman with conspiracy to import class A drugs.
Naela Khalid, 26, of Alston Gardens, Burnage, Jhangheer Younas Ali, 28, of Waterloo Street, Glodwick and Mohsin Khan, 29, of Sharpe Street, Collyhurst are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 13 July.
