bmibaby launch ‘unique’ loyalty scheme

bmibaby has teamed up with location-based social network Gowalla to launch what it has described as a 'unique' customer loyalty reward scheme. Its passengers are being asked to download the Gowalla app to their iPhone, BlackBerry or Android device in order to be in with a chance of receiving rewards every time they fly with the airline.
The initiative encourages participants to use one of the check-in locations created at bmibaby's 34 destinations and five UK bases, and to keep a log of their movements on Gowalla before and after all flights. Once their check-in is logged, passengers will be entered into a prize draw to win a pair of flights on the airlines' network, with winners being announced every month.
Julian Carr, bmibaby's managing director, said: 'We are pleased to be working with Gowalla on this customer reward scheme. At bmibaby we embrace new social media initiatives. We believe this is a fun way in which we can offer our customers something extra.'
Passengers can also use the Gowalla app to learn more about the sights, experiences and attractions on offer in destinations all over the world.
